About me
Hello, my name is Ian Chowdhury. My main interest, as an attorney, is to help individuals and small companies. Sometimes this means fighting against parasitic debt collectors. Sometimes it means guiding people through the process of starting up their own company, so they can pursue their goals without interference from the large hegemonic employers by which most people in our society are enslaved. Sometimes it means helping individuals achieve justice by suing large businesses that use their privileged position of economic power unfairly and unlawfully. Often, there are bureaucratic and legal obstacles to doing the things that allow each of us to reach our full potential. I am committed to using my legal education and experience to help overcome those hurdles.
After graduating from law school and passing the California Bar Exam in 1998, I gained valuable experience as a law clerk to a federal district judge in 1999 and then as the lead research attorney for the Complex Litigation Pilot Project for the state trial court system in Silicon Valley in 2000. Starting in 2001, I worked for several years advising dot-com companies and doing intellectual property litigation with California’s largest law firm, Wilson, Sonsini, Goodrich and Rosati before hanging out my own shingle in order to do all the things described in the first paragraph.
Feel free to look around my website, and thank you for stopping by.
